This is a freehand carved and chattered showpiece moon jar with a detailed wildlife theme. Contemporary carving includes a bird, vines, trees and a birds nest. The moon jar was thrown from 4 lbs of stoneware clay and has a beautiful foot and rim. Once underglazed, it was chattered and carved, then dried. After the initial firing, a beautiful rich teel glaze was added as a liner and on the rim.
